Bardolino Malcesine

E’ un percorso storico che ripercorre i sentieri dell’antico percorso dei pellegrini, che dal nord Europa entravano in Italia per raggiungere Roma. Si percorrono vecchie strade dentro antichi oliveti e fitti boschi con panorami bellissimi sul lago e si toccano antichi borghi e i pittoreschi paesini della riviera degli olivi fino ad arrivare al centro di Malcesine. L’itinerario è di solo andata, per il ritorno consigliamo di prendere il battello di linea o di percorrere la strada principale del lago (in alcuni tratti non ci sono piste ciclabili)

Mostly flat or with slight climbs. If interpreted from a historical-cultural point of view, this route offers many points of interest: the center of Lazise with the Scaligero castle, the old Venetian customs house and the ancient military port; Peschiera del Garda (UNESCO heritage) with the ancient fortress surrounded by Venetian walls; Borghetto sul Mincio, included in the list of the most beautiful villages in Italy; San Martino della Battaglia, historical place where the most important battle of the Second Italian War of Independence (1859) took place with the Tower and the ossuary that commemorate those events.
